New Country
Assimilating to other cultures and ways of life is something that I could never do. Where I come from has such a profound effect on who I am as a person that I could never abandon these cultural norms. This doesn't make me intolerant, rather it shows how native people from any country or province hold on to cultural aspects from home no matter how hard they try to erase them. You can run from your past as much as you want to but it will always follow you wherever you go.
Nature
Trickling water. The wind blowing between the trees. Rustling of creatures in the leaves while the sky watches from above. The squirrels quarreling in the bushes. One wrong step ruins the whole scene. Birds moving from canopy to canopy above. Grass swaying in the breeze. Insects singing in the distance.
Response Blog
I just finished reading a blog post by John Wallace where he gave an extremely descriptive and interesting biography. While reading it I felt like the fake biography actually represented real events in someones life. The most enjoyable part about this piece was the very personal details that were included in this story.

Biography
At around six foot four and probably around two hundred pounds the young man from the conversation I listened to was about my size. After the conversation with the girl in the Union he returned to his room and began to watch T.V. instead of working on his homework. He has never been someone that spends an exponential amount of time on his studies and spends most of his time chasing girls. However his grades do not reflect his lack of effort. His ability to talk his way out of situations and work under pressure allow him to keep his head above water as far as academics. The way he acts around people is sometimes crude and obnoctious. Despite this he still has the ability to make friends and be a relatively popular.
During my semi creepy eavesdropping session I began to listen to a young man and girl talk about bran cereal. The boy started with saying how bran cereal "makes his poop regular". The girl discussed how she didn't care for the raisins in Raisin Bran while the boy asked her why she didn't just buy bran flakes with no raisins. The boy proceeded to pass gas rather loudly as the girl shrieked with disgust.

A Day at the Game
Its difficult to try and believe "its just a game" when I first attended a Football game at Arrowhead stadium. The invigorating shouts and cheers of the energized crowd reminds me of the legendary battles I've read about it Roman Coliseums. As the epic battles rage below on the field, the aroma of various foods and drink lure crowds of people to boisterous vendors looking to sell there array of grub. Fans of both teams curse and shout playful insults to one another with the losing teams fans usually feeling speechless after the game concludes. After the stadium clears the celebration continues in the parking lot. As some fans clear the premises others stay and continue the festivities. At the end of it all I love to watch all of the other genuine and loyal fans stay until the sun sets over the downtown Kansas City skyline. For myself and all of the other fans like me its not "just a game" its an experience that each of us cherish every time we have the privilege to attend the celebration on Sundays.

When I was in the eighth grade a significant decision was made in my life. My family decided to move away from our old home and in to a new one. As we packed up my things I realized that this was an oportunity to make new friends and new experiences. I couldn't wait to go to my new school and find new and exciting things about my new home.
Tragedy
When I was in the eighth grade a significant decision was made in my life. My family decided to move away from our old home and in to a new one. As we packed up my things I realized that I was moving away from everyone I loved and everything I cared about. Moving in to the new place made me feel alone and lost and I missed my old home terribly.

Writer Introduction
Hi my name is Kevin Boren! I'm a sophomore at Northwest and am excited for another great year! I enjoy reading, writing, hanging out with friends, partying, and getting involved. As a writer I have always been a person who doesn't stray from telling you what is on my mind. I believe you should write without censors and take whatever criticism you receive and make yourself better. I hope to use this blog to share my ideas and constantly work on becoming a better writer.
